mycelium amphigenous, often also on stems. Appressoria nipple-shaped. Conia formed in chains, with fibrosin bodies. Cleistothecia with a single ascus, containing usually eight spores. Appendages numerous, sub-equatorial, 0.5-5 x the diameter, mycelioid, brown, flaccid, septate, mostly unbranched.
