Conidia elliptic, formed in chains, with fibrosin bodies. Cleistothecia mostly in groups, containing a single ascus with 6-8 spores. Usually less than 10, eventually brown, septate appendages, 1-4 times the cleistothecial diameter.
The ascus apically has a small window, the “oculus”, by which the spores are ejected; its diameter is 10-18 µm.
