mycelium amphigenous, also on stems, generally persistent. Appressoria nipple-shaped. Conidia formed in chains, with fibrosin bodies, elliptic. Cleistothecia with a single ascus, containing 6-8 spores. Appendages not very numerous, 0.5-2.5 x the diameter; mycelioid, septate, mostly simple.
