mycelium amphigenous, also on other parts of the plant, white, later brown. Appressoria indistinct. Conidia formed in chains, with fibrosin bodies. Cleistothecia often in dense groups forming dark patches; they contain a single ascus with usually 8 spores. Appendages numerous, a large part inserted above the equator, 1-6 x the diameter; they are unbranched, brown, septate, stiff, curved.
