mycelium amphigenous, very conspicuous, often more or less persistent. Appressoria inconspicuous. Conidia formed in chains, with fibrosin bodies. Cleistothecia containing a single ascus with 6-8 spores. Appendages in variable number, equatorial and supra-equatorial, 3-6 x the diameter; they are not mycelioid, flexuous, brown, septate, directed downwards.
