ovary disfigured, swollen, may be covered by conidia; flower otherwise not modified. Conidia 4-5 x 11-16 µm. The fungus is systemic.

synonyms

several authors, including Buhr, have taken this fungus as the anamorph of Thecaphora deformans. This assumption is rejected by Vánky and is not supported either by the Index Fungorum (2014).
