Bark cankers. Embedded in low warts lies a circle of ± 10 perithecia, that are connected to the outside world by a narrow channel. Asci 21-24 x 131-147 µm; 8 spores, 10-11 x 26-32 µm, 1-septate, constricted, with a short appendage at either side. Also inconspicuous black acervuli where brown conidia are formed, 9-10 x 21-26 µm.
