gall

the fungus forms a sorus in the tissue of a leaf or leaf sheath. It shows as an ill-delimited, 1-10 mm long, ± oval spot, yellowish at first, later brown. Immersed in the tissue 8-10 µm large hyaline spores with a smooth wall.
