uredinia conical, often occupying large parts of the leaf, yellow to orange. Urediniospores in chains, 13-24 x 19-33 µm, wall colourless, coarsely verrucose. Telia much rarer, hypophyllous, in orange to blood red waxy pads. Teliosporen 6-10 x 12-26 µm, in up to 0.4 mm long chains.
