spermogonia subepidermal, weakly protruding, pale, 0.2 mm. Aecia mostly hypophyllous, 1 mm, orange, in groups on yellowed parts of the leaf; spores densely pustulate. The aecia don’t have a peridium, but the remants of the ruptured epidermis may be misleading.
In this stage not to be distinguished from M. allii-fragilis.
