No host plant alternation known, only uredinia and telia. Uredinia cinnamon-coloured on small brown spots, scarce, hypophyllous, pulveruelent, paraphysate; spores 13-18 x 32-48 µm, echinulate, wall apically thickened, 3-4 germination pores on or above the equator. Telia like the uredinia but blackish brown; spores in bundles, two-celled, clavate, the upper cell coarsely echinulate; germination pore of the top cell above the equator, that of the basal cell near the separation wall.
