No host plant alternation, only uredinia and telia. Uredinia in autumn, hypophyllous, bright orange or golden yellow, without paraphyses, on spots that are brownish red at the upperside. Teliospores are formed in the uredinia. They are one-celled, almost colourless, with a distinct apical papilla.
