no host alternation. Spermogonia unknown. Aecia hypophyllous, orange, in groups of up to a cm, on swollen purple spots. Telia amphigenous, pulvinate, black, up to 3 mm; spores consisting of chains of 4-22 rounded cells, each one with 2 germination pores.
