No host alternation. Spermogonia and aecia scattered all over the plant, pale yellow. Uredinia and telia often missing, brown, long covered by the epidermis. Telia partly develop from the uredinia. Urediniospores elliptic, 1-celled, spinulose; teliospores on a long, deciduous pedicel, 2-celled, brown, each cell with a hyaline papilla.
