Uredinia mostly epiphyllous, rust brown, dispersed, soon naked, pulverulent. Urediniospores spinulose, with 4-6 dispersed, well visible germination pores. Telia hypophyllous, covered by the epidermis, dark brown. Only in the larger telia brown paraphyses. Teliospores 12-14 x 42-53 µm, 2-celled, clavate, hardly constricted; wall thin, except at the tip, smooth. Pedicel short, persistent, brown.
