no host plant alternation, only compact, dark brown telia, bursting through the epidermis. On the leaves they are small and hypophyllous, on the stems they are up to a cm large. Teliospores mostly 2-celled, smooth, 22-32 x 38-52 µm; pedicel hyaline, persistent, up to 70 µm.
