No host alternation. Spermogonia between the aecia, pale yellow. Aecia pustulate, later cupulate, peridium white, spores yellow; aecia on galled spots, especially of the petioles. No uredinia. Telia small, black, long covered by the epidermis. Teliospores two-celled, on a short, deciduous pedicel; wall finely reticulate.
