Exclusive telia, in greyish-brown complexes of up to half a cm; the telia separated by vertical bundles of brown, c. 70 µm long vertical paraphyses, overtopping the telia. Teliospores two-celled, 13-18 x 45-56 µm; the top cell (much) shorter than the basal one, with a distinctly thickend apical cell wall; pedicel short, persistent.
