No host plant alternation, only telia: black, pulverulent, soon naked, mainly hypophyllous, also on the petioles, not associated with leaf spots. Golden yellow urediniospores are formed among the teliospores; they measure 19-24 x 24-31 µm and ha 3-4 germination pores that not are capped by a papilla. Teliospores two-celled, oval, almost smooth, 17-24 x 26-31 µm; pedicel almost entirely hyaline, deciduous, up to 40 µm.
