No host plant alternation; no aecia. The uredinia that are formed first epiphyllous, chestntut brown, in circles on sharply delimited, c. 5 mm wide pale spots. The later ones hypophyllous, less than 0.5 mm, dark brown. Urediniospores with 2, equatorial pores. Telia dark brown; teliospores 2-cellen, rounded at top and bottom, not constricted, wall densely verrucose, pedicel deciduous, hyaline, 20 µm long.
