No host plant alternation. Spermogonia between the aecia. Aecia mainly hypophyllous, cupulate, with white, recurved margin divided in segments, on discoloured spots. Uredinia cinnamon brown, also on leaf spots. Urediniospores 20-26 x 21-20 µm, with 2-3 pores. Telia blackish brown. Teliospores 19-30 x 26-44 µm, two-celled, on very short, hyaline, deciduous pedicels.
