No host plant alternation. Spermogonia mainly epiphyllous on brown, yellow-margined leaf spots. Aecia hypophyllous, cupulate, yellow with recurved margin, on yellow spots, also on veins and petioles. Uredinia amphigenous, pulverulent, brown. Urediniospores20-24 x 25-31 µm, with (2)3(4) on or abbove the equator. Telia mainly hypophyllous, almost black; spores 21-31 x 27-45 µm, two-celled, finely verrucose, on short, hyaline, deciduous pedicels.
