No host plant alternation. Spermogonia between the aecia. Aecia hypophyllous, cupulate, yellow with recurved margin, on yellow spots, also on veins and petioles. Uredinia mainly epiphyllous, cinnamon brown, appearing after the aecia, also on yellow spots. Urediniospores 19-21 x 19-26 µm, with 2, rarely 3, equatorial pores, not capped by a papilla. Telia mostly hypophyllous, blackish brown, also on leaf spots; spores 16-26 x 21-35 µm, two-celled, finely verrucose, on short, hyaline, deciduous pedicels.
