No host plant alternation; no aecia. Spermogonia epiphyllous, uredinia and telia mostly hypophyllous. Uredinia light brown, long covered by the epidermis; urediniospores elliptic to cylindric with 3 equatorial germination pores. telia black; teliospores 2-celled, finely spinulose.
