No host plant alternation; spermogonia and aecia are lacking. Uredinia mainly hypophyllous, light brown; urediniospores with 2-4 equatorial germination pores. Telia amphigenous, almost black. Teliospores 2-celled, 32-46 x 18-27 µm, on a short, deciduous pedicel.
