Host alternation not known, only uredinia and telia. Uredinia very small (< 0.5 mm), amphigenous, brownish, pulverulent; spores 21-25 x 24-29 µm. Telia numerous, amphigenous, blackish brown, long covered by the epidermis, without paraphyses. Teliospores without exception 2-celled, clavate, 18-26 x 44-65 µm; wall smooth, pedicel short, thick, yellowish brown.
