no host alternation (known), only uredinia and telia. Uredinia yellowish brown, mainly epiphyllous, dispersed; spores with (3)4-5(7) pores. Telia small, black, mainly hypophyllous, covered by the epidermis, with paraphyses. Teliospores mostly two-celled, but one-celled spores are common.
