No host plant alternation, only telia. They are chocolate-brown, small, pustular, long covered by the epidermis, hypophyllous, but also on the petiole, causing clear galling. Sporen two-celled, ovoid, 15-25 x 25-45 µm; wall smooth, thin; pedicel short, hyaline, deciduous; germination pores capped by small but distinct papillae.
