Puccinia loliicola

Puccinia loliicola Viennot-Bourgin, 1937

op ? Allium

spermogonia and aecia unknown, possibly on Allium (Klenke & Scholler). Even if this were the case, it is almost certain that morphologically they are not with certainty distinguishable from other species on the same host plant.

on Lolium

uredinia amphigenous, bright orange, up to 2 mm, dispersed without paraphyses. Urediniospores short-oval, finely spinulose, 3(-5) pores of which 2 near the apex. Telia epiphyllous, shining black, 1 mm but often forming crusts, divided into compartments by rows of clavate, brown, paraphyses. Teliospores 1- or 2-celled, variable and irregular shaped, wall smooth.

uredinia, telia

Poaceae, monophagous

Lolium perenne, multiflorum.

Termorshuizen & Swertz consider lolicola a junior synonym of P. hordei.
