Infection systemic, plants do not flower, develop baldy. No host alternation, only telia. Telia hypophyllous on stem and stems, ≤ 1 mm diam, scattered or in groups, dark brown. Teliospores two-spored, yellowish brown, smooth, elliptic, 35-61 µm long, hardly constricted, pore of upper cell apical, wall apically strongly thickened, pedicel up to 100 μ, thick, persistent, pale yellow to brownish.
