No host plant alternation; aecia are missing. Uredinia and telia chestnut brown to blackish brown; part of the sori with a mix of urediniospores and teliospores; no leaf spots. Urediniospores 18-31 x 21-33 µm, spinulose, with 2 equatorial germination pores. Teliospores 18-30 x 25-42 µm, elliptic, 2-celled, verruculose to smooth; pedicel hyaline, up to 80 µm.
