Aecia hypophyllous on purple leafs pots visible at both sides; cupulate, peridium yellowish white, laciniate, segments at first erect; spore mass yellow. No uredinia. Telia on leaves and stems, blackish brown, compact. Sporen 2-celled, smooth, 20-25 x 42-55 µm; pedicel brownish, about as long as the spore, brittle.
