host alternation not known. Uredinia mainly hypophyllous, orange yellow, pulverulent; sometimes a small number of paraphyses; spores small (11-16 x 15-18 µm), with 4 distributed germination pores. Telia rarely formed, on the leaf sheaths, tiny, black, without paraphyses; spores two-celled, apically with several, 9-11 µm long, digitiform processes, on short pedicel.
