Aecia, uredinia and telia hypophyllous, also on the stem. Aecia cupulate, on galled and discoloured spots. Uredinia cinnamon brown, telia dark brown. Urediniospores with 2-3 inconspicuous germination pores. Teliospores two-celled, on a long deciduous pedicel; germination pore of the lower cell close to the septum.
