No host plant alternation, only uredinia and telia, both hypophyllous. Uredinia numerous, light brown, up to 1 mm. Telia minute, dark greyish brown. The normal, two-celled teliospores are a minority, sometimes they are completely absent. Their place is taken by “amphispores”: one-celled, brown, irregular in shape and wall thickness.
