No host plant alternation, only uredinia and telia, both pulverulent, hypophyllous, on discoloured spots. Uredinia cinnamon-coloured; spores with 2(3) equatorial pores; the cell wall is apically somewhat thickened. Telia partly derived from the uredinia, dark brown to black. Teliospores 2-celled, oval, hardly constricted; wall uniform in thickness, ± smooth; pedicel hyaline, deciduous, up to 35 µm.
