No host plant alternation; only uredinia en telia. Both are amphigenous, pale brown and dark brown, respectively. Uredinia without paraphyses, spores with 5-9 germination pores. Telia rarely formed, late in autumn; spores two-celled, with a conspicuously thick, verrucose wall, on short, easily deciduous pedicels.
