uredinia at the upperside of the leaf, numerous, orange to cinnamon brown; spores 25-33 x 35-43 µm, wall apically not thickened; (5)8(12) germination pores, not capped by a low papilla. Telia hypophyllous, very numerous, black, covered by the epidermis. Teliospores 2-celled, slender clavate; wall smooth, apically somewhat thickened; pedicel short, deciduous.
