No host plant alternation. Aecia cause galling of veins and petioles; opening slit-like. Uredinia and telia hypophyllous; (yellow) brown and chestnut brown, respectively. Urediniosporen 17-21 x 18-25 µm with 3 equatorial pores. Teliospores two-celled, short-elliptic; wall with reticulate structure; pedicel of about the same length as the spore.
