Aecia amphigenous, not on spots, dispersed over the entire surface of the leaf, often causing malformations, cupulate, margin white, recurved, laciniate. Uredinia amphigenous, small, brown; spores generally with 3 germination pores. Telia similar, but brownish black; spores 2-celled, 24-32 x 30-44 µm, verrucose; pedicel hyaline, short.
