No host plant alternation, only telia. Telia in large groups around the leaf tip, dark brown. Spores two-celled, all with many small but clear pits; pore of the apical cell with an acute papilla.

Possibly also P. ficalhoana Lagerheim, 1890, described from Hyacinthoides hispanica, is conspecific with rossiana.
