No host plant alternation. Aecia, uredinia, and telia hypophyllous, yellow with white margin, light brown and darker brown, respectively, on purple spots on leaves and stem. Urediniospores with 2(3) equatorial pores. Teliospores two-celled, on deciduous pedicels.
