No host plant alternation, no uredinia. Spermogonia scarce, epiphyllous. Aecia cupulate, singular or in small groups. Telia up to 0.5 mm, black, mostly singular, long covered by the epidermis that ruptures pore-like. Spores 2-celled, short-oval, 15-18 x 25-32 µm; wall smooth, of even thickness; pedicel short, hyaline, breaking off.
