No host plant alternation, only telia. Telia hypophyllous, pulverulent, dark brown. Teliospores two-celled, wall densely verruculose, each cell with a conspicuous, hyaline papilla; the spores on a lom deciduous pedicel. The infection causes localised galling of the leaves.
