No host plant alternation; aecia are missing. Uredinia up to 0.5 mm, mainly hypophyllous, cinnamon-coloured. Urediniospores 23-26 x 24-28 µm, spinulose, 2 germination pores, opposite on the equator. Telia blackish brown, amphigenous. Teliospores 23-27 x 33-36 µm, elliptic, 2-celled, verruculose; pedicel short, hyaline.
