not host plant alternation, only telia. They are dark brown, often surrounded by a whitish zone, hypophyllous, also on the petioles and especially there creating strong malformations. Teliospores 2-celled, ± elliptic with a clear constriction; the wall is smooth, apical cell with a pronounced papilla; pedicel short, hyaline, deciduous.
