No host plant alternation, only telia. Telia hypophyllous, black, in up to 1 cm large groups, on discoloured spots; spores; they are compact, long covered by the epidermis. Spores 1- or 2-celled; wall of the top cell apically strongly thickened; pedicel brown, permanent, up to 50 µm.
