uredinia light brown, amphigenous, often on small yellowish spots. Urediniospores unusually large (19-32 x 24-42 µm) with (2)3(4) equatorial pores. Telia up to 1 mm, blackish brown, amphigenous. Teliospores 2-celled; wall smooth, apically thickened; pedicel persistent, honey-coloured, up to half as long as the spore; the spores do not fall off.
