no host plant alternation, only telia on swollen parts of leaf and petiole. Initially they are isolated and covered by the epidermis, ultimately they fuse into up to 10 mm long brownish black sori. Spores 2-celled, chestnut brown, smooth, 10-23 x 21-44 µm; germination pores with a 3 µm high papilla.
