No host plant alternation; no spermogonia or aecia. Uredinia mostly epiphyllous, orange yellow, on brightly discoloured spots; spores finely spinulose, with 6-8 dispersed, well visible spores. Telia uncommon, amphigenous, on withering leaves, dark brown. Teliospores one-celled, yellowish brown, smooth, pedicel persistent, about as long as the spore.
